In March of 2020, the entire earth was put on pause by a deadly virus with an alarming spread rate. With the only instructions being to stay inside and away from others, almost everyone felt the effects of the worldwide quarantine. It was during this time that a group of creatives decided to create a Facebook group dedicated to volunteer virtual performances. With many actors without a stage, writers without a workshop, technicians without a lightboard or soundboard, and more, the group had roaring success during the hardest parts of the nationwide lockdown. Through this group, three friends banded together and thought, “What if we developed a theatre dedicated to radio drama? Now, more than ever, families need unifying performances.” And thus, Shakespeare Sound Company was born.
