The naïve and beautiful Agnes becomes the object of her pedantic, woman fearing guardian, Arnolphe. Hilarity ensues when unbeknownst to the old fool Agnes has fallen in love with his friend's son, Horace. Unbeknownst to the young fool, Arnolphe has disguised himself as an older confidante Monsieur de la Souche, and so the games begin for which man will hold Agnes' heart dearly!
